It is easier for Turkmen citizens to obtain visas for studying in Russia

From July 22, the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan will begin accepting documents for issuing student visas for applicants and students of Russian universities.
Reception will be held only on Saturdays, representatives of the embassy told an ORIENT correspondent. Thus, one day a week, the embassy will deal with only a certain audience and only one type of visa. This will simplify the process of admission and return to study at Russian universities for Turkmen youth.
The innovation is also associated with an increase in the number of quotas for Turkmen citizens in Russian universities.
Applicants must bring the following documents with them:
– an invitation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to apply for a student visa or visa instructions from the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- printed electronic application forms with a photo, pre-filled on the site visa.kdmid.ru;
- a copy and original of valid internal and foreign Turkmen passports (the validity of the international passport must be at least 18 months from the expiration date of the visa specified in the invitation);
- a valid certificate of the absence of HIV infection with a translation into Russian (the certificate is valid for 3 months).
Note that a free study visa is issued within five working days. It takes three business days to issue an urgent visa and costs $160.
