Turkmenistan took third place at the World Belt Wrestling Championship


Turkmen athletes took the third team place at the world championship in belt wrestling, which was held in Astana (Kazakhstan) from 13 to 16 July. In total, wrestlers from 30 countries took part in the competition.
Athletes from Turkmenistan won 11 medals - 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze, thus entering the top three teams at the World Championships.
Agayusup Garayev, Rozmyrat Medov, Khodjamyrat Sukhanov and Atageldi Tejendurdiyev won gold medals in different weight categories among men.
Annagurban Allaberdiev, Arslan Khodjamberdiev, Nobatgeldi Nazarov among men and Dzhemal Ovliyakuliyeva among women became silver medalists.
Bronze medals among men were awarded to Guvanch Khemraev and Nurmukhammet Baidogdyev, and among women - to Zarina Abdyrakhmanova.
The first team place in the championship went to Russia, and the second to Kazakhstan.
