The agro-industrial complex "Buyan" of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has exported abroad over 3.3 thousand tons of licorice root and 613 tons of licorice extract since the beginning of the year, the newspaper "Turkmenistan" writes.

At the moment, the company is in the midst of the production season, which began in March and will end in November. The employees of the complex have already harvested more than 1.1 thousand tons of licorice root and 549 tons of licorice extract.

Turkmenistan exports licorice root and its products to China, India, Russia and other countries. This medicinal plant has many beneficial properties for human health. It helps with diseases of the stomach, skin, respiratory tract, reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system.

Licorice contains glycyrrhizic acid, which has antiviral, antifungal and antitumor effects. It is also rich in flavonoids, organic acids, essential oils and other substances that have a beneficial effect on various body systems.
