China launches world's largest green hydrogen production

The world's largest production facility for converting solar energy into hydrogen was launched by the Chinese oil and gas and chemical corporation Sinopec. This is reported by the portal renen.ru.
Its plant is equipped with power transmission and conversion lines, as well as installations for water electrolysis, hydrogen production, storage and transportation. At the same time, the electrolyzers are powered by a solar power plant and use wind energy.
The project is designed to produce 20 thousand tons of green hydrogen per year. The created storage facilities make it possible to maintain hydrogen reserves in the amount of 210 thousand cubic meters. The transportation infrastructure allows shipping 28,000 cubic meters of hydrogen per hour.
Green hydrogen is delivered to the Sinopec Tahe Refining & Chemical refinery to replace fossil fuels. According to calculations, this will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 485,000 tons per year.
Meanwhile, British-Dutch oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell is building Europe's largest hydrogen plant. An enterprise called Holland Hydrogen I will appear in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the largest European port, in 2025. The capacity of the enterprise is predicted to be up to 60 tons of green hydrogen per day.
