Russia continues to increase cargo transportation along the eastern route of the North–South corridor


Mikhail Glazkov, Deputy General Director of Russian Railways, reported on the implementation of planned indicators for the transportation of goods by rail for export. According to the report, since April of this year, the regularity of the service of full–composite container trains on the eastern branch of the international transport corridor "North - South", which runs through the territory of Turkmenistan, has been increased.
In turn, Anatoly Meshcheryakov, director of the Transport Department of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers, said that measures are currently being carried out in full swing to implement the development of international corridors according to the road maps, the press service of the Russian government reports.
In addition, the main senders of goods along the eastern branch of the route were announced. They became the Moscow region, Chelyabinsk region and Karelia. In order to ensure stable growth of cargo traffic, the geography of the service has been expanded, active work is underway at the landfills of railways and related infrastructure.
