Turkmen doctors performed orthopedic surgery using Pemberton's method for the first time

The first orthopedic operation in Turkmenistan by the Pemberton method was performed on a 5-year-old resident of the Lebap region at the Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health. The news about this is reported by the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
In May last year, the German doctor of the Dritter Orden clinic, Professor Vincent Frimberger, shared with the Turkmen specialists of the center the surgical method of Pemberton for complex diseases of the hip joint. In addition, German colleagues exchanged experience and successfully implemented an innovative method in the practice of their Turkmen colleagues.
It is worth noting that the young patient is under the care of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Helping Children in Need of Guardianship. The Foundation handed over to the capital center a set of surgical instruments necessary for the operation.
On the same days, surgeons of the International Cardiology Center performed 10 heart operations, neurosurgical, orthopedic operations for children with congenital diseases of the musculoskeletal and central nervous systems. The youngest patient was 3-month-old Aymelek Maksadova from the Lebap town of Gazochak.
The postoperative condition of the children is stable. All of them are under the patronage of the Foundation, from whose funds more than 140 medical operations have been carried out since 2021, and for 50 children — medical examination with the gratuitous purchase of necessary drugs.
