The launch of the Threads platform led to a decrease in Twitter traffic

Following the launch of the Threads social network from Meta, the user traffic of the Twitter microblogging service has sharply decreased, the CNBC website writes.
Threads has 100 million regular users in just five days. "It's mostly organic demand, and we haven't even launched many promotions yet. I can't believe it!", — Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Monday.
Meanwhile, according to the Similarweb service, Twitter user traffic decreased immediately by 5% in the first two days after the launch of Threads compared to last week.
Threads has overtaken the growth rate of the number of users of the ChatGPT AI bot, which only 2 months after its launch was able to gain 100 million monthly users.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of Twitter, said he would sue Meta for launching Threads. According to Musk, Meta violated Twitter's trade secrets and copied its functionality and design.
Musk called it "systematic, malicious and misappropriation of intellectual property" and demanded that Meta stop using Threads. Meta denies the charges and claims that former Twitter employees did not participate in the development of Threads.
