A meeting with the OSCE representative on freedom of the media was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajyyev held talks on Monday with Teresa Ribeiro, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.
According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on the current partnership agenda and discussed prospects for joint work within the OSCE third dimension, including the mandate of the representative on freedom of the media.
The Turkmen diplomat noted that in recent years cooperation in this direction has reached a new level and has acquired a systemic character. The meeting participants highly appreciated the joint activities in the context of the continuation of constructive partnership between Turkmenistan and the Representative's Office.
It was noted that together with the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, various events are regularly held aimed at improving the professional skills of journalists and public relations specialists, facilitating the process of digital transformation of the media, etc.
The parties expressed their readiness to hold joint media events in Turkmenistan both at the national and regional levels.
