Finished 2024 Winter Youth Olympic medal designs presented
The organizing committee of the IV Winter Youth Olympic Games 2024 in Gangwon-do presented the reverse side of the competition medals. The first Winter Youth Games to be held in Asia.
The artwork came about as a result of a workshop held by the organizers of the competition in collaboration with local art schools.
The design embodies the nature and scenic environment of Gangwon Province.
The organizers of the Games also presented uniforms for volunteers and staff in commemoration of 200 days before the start of the competition, which is scheduled to run from January 19 to February 1, 2024. All items were made from recycled products.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Gene John Oh, assured that they would do everything possible to make the Games remain a good memory for both spectators and participating athletes from all over the world.
The front side of the medals will reflect the creation of the Brazilian architect Dante Akira Uvai called "Sparkling Future". It was selected from a record 3,000 submissions and is a geometric interpretation of the Gangwon-do 2024 slogan, "Grow Together, Shine Forever".
