British Minister Docherty visited the Memorial Complex in Ashgabat


British Minister for Europe and Central Asia Leo Docherty visited the Memorial Complex "People's Memory" in Ashgabat, where he paid tribute to the victims of the Ashgabat earthquake of 1948, soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War and the heroes of the Battle of Geokdepe.
As part of his visit to the capital of Turkmenistan, the Minister has already visited the National Museum of the Turkmen carpet, and also rode an Ahal-Teke horse, the British Embassy in the country reports.
"This visit to Turkmenistan is taking place within the framework of my commitment to visit all the countries of Central Asia to further develop cooperation and mutual understanding between the UK and this strategic part of the world. I look forward to returning soon," said a member of the British government.
Earlier сообщалось That Leo Docherty will hold talks in Ashgabat with Turkmen officials and business representatives to coordinate further actions in the textile industry and cultural interaction between the countries.
