About 800 ancient manuscripts stored in Sweden will "move" to Uzbekistan

Ancient Turkic manuscripts are currently stored in the libraries of Uppsala and Lund Universities in Sweden. Unique book editions were collected by Swedish missionaries in the 19th and 20th centuries. A total of 858 Turkic artifacts are currently in library vaults, and more than 500 books have duplicates and all of them will be returned to Uzbekistan, reports upl.uz .
Uzbek experts plan to create a digital register of these rare publications, carry out the necessary restoration work and scientific research. All this will become part of an innovative project called "Creation of a database and an electronic platform of Turkic manuscripts unavailable in Uzbekistan".
Among the ancient collections are literary works of famous poets and translators covering various periods of time. The collection contains manuscripts attributed to Navoi, Babur, Fuzuli, Sufi Oloyar and Mashrab, as well as 25 manuscripts authored by Alisher Navoi.
