Kazakh colleges start issuing diplomas with a QR code

College graduates of Kazakhstan for the first time received diplomas of technical and vocational, as well as post-secondary education with a QR code on the form. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of the country.
This step was taken as part of efforts to digitalize the education sector in the republic. The use of automatic identification and data verification technology makes it possible to protect diplomas from forgery, to confirm the authenticity of the document by employers.
As Vice Minister of Education Aibat Ilyasov commented, the QR code will issue a link to the state web portal, which will contain information about the owner of the diploma, the educational institution and the details of the document from the state National Educational Database.
It should be noted that from July 6, diplomas issued this year will also be available in electronic form on the Digital Documents Service in the personal account of the e-government portal and the eGov Mobile application. Through eGov Mobile, college graduates can provide access to a digital diploma via a QR code or transfer data electronically to organizations and individuals.
This practice is used when issuing diplomas of graduation from higher educational institutions.
According to the Ministry of Education of the Republic, over 140,000 diplomas will be issued to college graduates this year.
