For the first time in the world and in Turkmenistan, a chess championship among school teams will be held


The first national chess championship among school teams will be organized in Ashgabat this weekend.
The winning team will get the right to represent our country at the global chess championship among schools in a month, on August 3-8, which will also be organized for the first time in the history of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). The coastal Kazakh city of Aktau will host this large-scale competition.

And school teams from all over the country in two age categories – under 12 and under 18 will be able to compete for the opportunity to represent Turkmenistan at this school "World Cup". The championship will be held on July 8 and 9 at the Ashgabat specialized chess and draughts school.
The team must consist of four players, and at least one boy and one girl must be represented in it. The competitions will be held in 7 rounds according to the so-called Swiss system with a time limit of 15 minutes for each with the addition of 10 seconds for each move.
Managers or coaches of any secondary school can apply by July 7 at the link, where it will also be possible to get acquainted with the regulations on the tournament.

Organizations and enterprises wishing to become a part of such an important event for the future generation of the country are also invited to cooperate. After all, it is widely known that regular chess classes develop children's intellectual skills such as logic, memory, ingenuity, spatial and strategic thinking. The sports component of chess contributes to the formation of such personal traits as patience, perseverance, determination and respect for the opponent.
