New edition: Stories about Turkmen composers - for young musicians


The book "Turkmen Musical Literature" has been published - this is the first textbook in Turkmenistan about the work of professional composers, written in the Turkmen language and intended for children's music schools.
Its authors are Tatyana Litvina, senior lecturer at the Department of History of Music at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, and Meilis Charyev, director of the Mary Special Music School named after Yolaman Hummaev.

The textbook presents the history of the formation and development of the professional musical culture of Turkmenistan. The issues of the emergence of the national composer school, the work of a number of outstanding composers who have made a huge contribution to the development of the country's professional music are considered.

The life and creative path of composers is revealed, a musical analysis of the most famous works of the authors is given. Among them: chamber-vocal creativity of Dangatar Ovezov and his opera "Leyli and Mejun"; Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Sonata for Piano by Ashir Kuliyev; "Turkmen Suite" for symphony orchestra and the First Symphony "In Memory of Makhtumkuli" by Velimukhammet Mukhadov; "Children's Album" for piano and ballet "Nisa" by Durdy Nuryev; symphonic works by Nury Khalmammedov, his piano and chamber-vocal compositions; Piano Concerto and Second Quartet "In Memory of Indira Gandhi" by Chary Nurymov; Concert-poem for violin and orchestra by Rejep Allayarov; Concerto for cello and orchestra and "Identical Symphony" by Amandurdy Agadzhikov.

The final chapter of the textbook is devoted to the development of professional music in Turkmenistan during the years of independence.
The book includes archival photographs, musical examples illustrating the ideological content of the analyzed works.

The new textbook, published in a circulation of 3,130 copies, will be a wonderful gift for young musicians for the new academic year, and is a great contribution to the development of the educational and pedagogical process of music schools, supplementing it with meaningful and interesting material about personalities in the Turkmen musical art.
