The international forum on transport and communication smart solutions was held in the city of Arkadag


"Arkadag City is a city of smart and green technologies" - an international conference under this name was held on Sunday, July 2. The event was organized by the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan jointly with the City Hall of Arkadag, which in the first days after its grand opening became a place of concentration of representative meetings, negotiations, scientific and practical forums with the participation of foreign guests from many countries, international organizations and multinational companies.
The focus of attention is on the incredible opportunities in the development of investment and technological cooperation on such a globally significant track as the creation of smart cities. And, of course, transport and communications are at the forefront here as the flagship part of the entire smart city ecosystem. They form the conditions for the integration and management of urban infrastructure: from housing and communal services to education, health and safety.

The conference was held at two venues – in the building of the Communications Department of Arkadag and in the library named afterIt also included an Internet platform on the Zoom platform for remote connection of a number of foreign experts.
The plenary session of the forum considered the concept of smart and green cities as a guarantee of sustainable and effective urbanization of territories on the example of the city of Arkadag.
Mammetkhan Chakyyev, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications, made a detailed report on this topic. He noted the main features of the creation of the first smart city in the country and the region, the main of which is that it was created from scratch, while many similar projects involve the modernization of existing megacities. Many different information, intelligent systems have formed the digital framework of the city of Arkadag, ensuring the quality, productivity and interactivity of city services. Public services, transport network management, rational use of energy, water, the Internet of Things, innovative social infrastructure and much more – all this is combined on the basis of smart solutions in a single urban environment.

The heads of departments of the country's transport and communication block told in more detail about its functionality and components: the chairman of the "Turkmenaragatnashyk" agency Hajymyrat Hudaygulyyev and the chairman of the "Turkmenawtoulaglary" agency Guvanchmyrat Akmammedov.

In addition, the plenary session was addressed by Nurudin Mukhitdinov, Director General of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, Tomis Paovich, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, Mi Nuo, Director of the Products and Solutions Department for the Central Asia and Caucasus region of Huawei Technologies, and Ismail AydinDovelettmammeta Azadi, Director for Turkmenistan of Nokia. By video link, the discussions were joined by the International Telecommunication Union.

Among the delegates of the forum were representatives of CJSC Vostochny Veter, Kazakhtelecom, Huawei Technologies, Yutong International Co., DeltaTelecom, Sony, NEC Communication and Information Technologies Ltd, Rostelecom, KAMAZ, as well as companies such as Kaspersky, Tales Alenia Space, SSI, MONACO S.A.M, Terralink Global, Cisco, Elsevedy Electric, Hyundai Corporation and Sumitomo Corporation.

During the thematic sessions, including such issues as the development of international cooperation, the widespread introduction of the capabilities of the Smart City and Smart Home systems in Turkmenistan, attracting foreign investment in this area, the introduction of modern technologies and promising projects, information security, dozens of local and foreign scientists, experts, business people, as well as representatives of international organizations made interesting presentations.
Among the speakers, in particular, were Yun Suk Choi, Vice President of Hyundai Corporation, Valery Zubanov, Commercial Director of Kaspersky Lab for Central Asia, Bernard Hepp, Director of International Development - Strategy and Business Development of Tales Alenia Space, President and CEO of SSI–MONACO Ilkhami. Boris Bubnov, Director of Vostochny Veter CJSC, and Oleg Zolotarev, Director of Terralink Global, spoke about technologies and new solutions for smart and green cities.

The participants discussed the impact of smart technologies on the daily lives of citizens, the interconnection of energy sources, analytical processing of urban data, their protection and cybersecurity, the establishment of new partnerships in the field of communications and strengthening existing cooperation.
At the end of the conference, a tour of the city of Arkadag was organized for its delegates.
