Next Sunday, on February 23 – the birthday of Emperor Naruhito, the Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan invites everyone wishing to touch the culture and traditions of the Land of the rising sun. In honor of this date, an amazing show – a demonstration of Japanese kimonos is waiting for guests of the holiday at the Berkarar shopping center in Ashgabat. National robes, made of fabrics of bright colors, tied with richly decorated Obi belts, have become synonym of Eastern refined luxury long ago. It is interesting, that the Japanese kimono, unlike traditional European clothing, does not show the human body, but only the shoulders and waist. This is due to the fact that the ideal of the human body in Japan conforms the principle “the fewer there are embossments and asperities, the more beautiful it is a body”. Therefore, to look beautiful in a kimono, it was not enough to have a beautiful figure. The “perfect face” was considered to be an integral part of the entourage. So, in addition to the outfit, it was formed the standard of women’s makeup – a bleached face, slanted eyes and high eyebrows, small scarlet lips that look like a rosebud. Professor Midori Yamada will also give a master class on creating ikebana. In Japan, the traditional art of arranging cut flowers and sprouts, which originated as a skill for decorating temple offerings, has grown into a rage. There are various schools and styles in which the creators of ikebana reflect their thoughts and emotions. On February 22, for students of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D.Azadi and the Oguzkhan University of Engineering and Technology, the students of which study Japanese, there will be organized “sado” Japanese tea ceremony. Students will be able to communicate with representatives of the Embassy and guests, improve their speaking skills and get a deeper understanding of the spirit and glamorous charm of Japanese culture.
