Turkmen diplomats took part in inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS in Bishkek


Cooperation in the fight against modern challenges and threats to security was discussed by CIS diplomats in Bishkek on Wednesday during the inter-ministerial consultations within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States on the topic "On countering new challenges and threats".
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, this year the event was attended by delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center. Representatives of the Commonwealth countries confirmed their commitment to the development of cooperation between the member states of the association in this area, including further coordination of positions on various international platforms.
The meeting is annual and brings together representatives of the foreign ministries of the CIS member states to discuss a wide range of issues of cooperation in the fight against common security threats, such as terrorism, including the possibility of countering its financing, as well as extremism and drug trafficking, the Russian diplomatic department said in a statement.
