Negotiations with foreign delegations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held meetings with foreign delegations who arrived in the country on the eve of the grand opening of the new city of Arkadag. In addition to participating in the upcoming large-scale celebrations on this occasion on June 29, during the visit, representatives of various states, international organizations and large companies are holding working meetings and negotiations in Ashgabat.
Thus, on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri. They discussed priority issues and prospects for further expansion of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the ECO.
The sides noted great opportunities for regional partnership in such topical areas as trade, transport, investment, energy, ecology, agriculture, tourism and others. Attention was also paid to the upcoming Summit of the heads of the ECO member states, scheduled for November this year in Tashkent, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajyyev held a meeting today with Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Lezsak Sandor, having considered topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
In this context, the importance of the official visit of Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Turkmenistan in June this year, during which specific agreements were reached, was noted.
On June 28, Rashid Meredov also met with a delegation headed by Matsushita Shinpei, Chairman of the Secretariat of the Japan-Turkmenistan Parliamentary Friendship League of the Parliament of Japan.
It was noted that the political relations between Turkmenistan and Japan have reached a qualitatively new level and are characterized by high dynamics, and the inter-parliamentary dialogue is one of the key areas of expanding partnership between the two states.
In this regard, an important event that gave impetus to the intensification of cooperation in this direction was the visit of Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan last autumn.
The sides exchanged views on a number of joint plans to expand inter- parliamentary cooperation.
Rashid Meredov held a separate meeting with Chairman of the Japan- Turkmenistan Committee for Economic Cooperation, Managing Director of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai and Executive Director, General Manager of the Kawasaki Heavy Plant Design Business Unit Kenji Sanada.
The interlocutors discussed the state and prospects of partnership in the context of the development of trade and economic ties. It was noted that currently the economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan has acquired a strategic, sustainable and long-term character.
A day earlier, on Tuesday, Minister Rashid Meredov met with the President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Hou Qijun.
During the talks, an analysis of the current state of cooperation and an exchange of views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation took place, one of the priorities of which is the fuel and energy sector, taking into account the existing great
potential. Readiness was expressed to continue work on the implementation of new projects related to increasing the supply of Turkmen natural gas in the Chinese direction.
