A meeting with the new Ambassador of Tajikistan was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan


The new Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan, Vafo Niyatbekzoda, presented copies of credentials to Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. During the meeting held at the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, the diplomats discussed the state and prospects of the interstate dialogue.
Meredov expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the diplomatic activities of the ambassador in order to strengthen bilateral relations.
In the context of the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan in May this year, the importance of contacts at the highest level was emphasized. Active cooperation on international platforms, including within the framework of regional structures, was also noted. The sides paid special attention to expanding contacts through parliamentary diplomacy, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Noting the progressive development of trade and economic cooperation between the countries in recent years, the interlocutors also expressed their readiness to promote the development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
Vafo Niyatbekzoda replaced Farrukh Khomiddin Sharifzoda, who worked in Turkmenistan as an ambassador for five years, as the head of the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan in Ashgabat.
Turkmenistan and Tajikistan adopted a Declaration on deepening strategic partnership in May 2023.
