Turkmen racers will take part in the Silk Road Rally, which starts on July 5


The thirteenth edition of the Silk Road International Rally will begin on July 5 — teams will have to pass administrative and technical checks before leaving the Millennium Square in Kazan on a unique route stretching over 5 thousand kilometers. Representatives of Turkmenistan will also take part in the race.
After passing through the territories of 13 regions of Russia, the athletes will finish on July 15 at the walls of the Moscow Kremlin.

The total length of the rally distance will be 5,247.71 kilometers, of which 2,277.54 will fall on high-speed sections, which are an excellent combination of technically complex and diverse tracks.
98 participating crews will pass through the starting arch in all the rally standings. The Silk Road Rally Raid has the status of an international rally raid competition, which will also include: the international cross-country rally competition of the MFR, the third stage of the Russian rally Raid championship - Bach Silk Road, the Grand Tour "Small Towns of Russia" and the Adventure Trophy for amateurs motorcycle travel, according to the organizers' website on Tuesday.

Most of the participants are in the T2 SUV category. Of the 17 crews that will start in Kazan, 13 will travel along the entire route of the international rally to climb to the finish podium on Red Square. Last year's rally winner Merdan Toylyev from the team of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan will defend his title in a tense struggle against the current champion of Russia Anton Melnikov and two pilots of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT Raid team — Dmitry Voronov and Evgeny Sukhovenko.
In total, representatives of 23 countries will come to the start of the Silk Road Rally in 2023 – the Russian Federation, Belarus, Switzerland, France, Italy, Serbia, Israel, the Republic of Cyprus, the Syrian Arab Republic, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Albania, Moldova, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Iran, Republic of Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan.

The upcoming Silk Road International Rally will be a new step in the development of the largest rally-raid competition project in Eurasia.
