A cellular satellite transmitted data from space to a regular phone

A cellular satellite was able to transmit data from space to a regular phone. A similar data exchange experiment between the BlueWalker 3 satellite and standard smartphones was successfully conducted by AST SpaceMobile.
The experiment was conducted on the island of Hawaii with the help of the American telecom operator AT&T.
This opens a new milestone in the use of the Internet. After all, previously, special phones were required for direct connection of a mobile phone to a satellite for Internet access. Now data exchange at acceptable speeds is also available for regular phones.
In the future, scientists plan to achieve data transmission at the level of the 5G standard.
BlueWalker 3 is an experimental satellite that was created to test the technology of direct connection to phones from low orbit. Thanks to one of the largest antennas with an area of 65 square meters, the object stands out with brightness in the blackness of space.
