Saudi Arabia uses drones to ensure road safety in holy places

To ensure the safety and quality of the road network in places for pilgrimage during the current season, the General Directorate of Highways of Saudi Arabia has begun to use the technology of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Drones will be used to monitor the road network, as well as to quickly and accurately inspect ferries and bridges.
It is noteworthy that in order to protect the health and safety of pilgrims, special groups for health education during the Hajj are involved at airports. The teams will accompany the visitors, providing them with health recommendations and informing them about the precautions that must be observed during the pilgrimage.
This initiative is part of a campaign by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention to inform about the current Hajj season called "Safe Healthy Hajj". Within its framework, the Ministry will also provide pilgrims with the necessary vaccinations to protect against infections, conduct medical examinations, paying special attention to people with chronic diseases, the elderly and pregnant women.
