Ranking Weightlifting Championship: tickets to Japan are on the line

To three medals of the International Solidarity Weightlifting Championship, won the day before by Yulduz Jumabaeva, Seiitjan Mirzaev and Kristina Shermetova, athletes from Turkmenistan added the same number a day later. Aisoltan Toichyeva, working as a coach of the 5th sports weightlifting school in Mary region and entering under 87 kg, was close to reach the highest step of the podium. Her result is a silver medal in the championship and 203 kg in the amount of two exercises, in each of which the athlete was also second. Two students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports – third-year student Rustem Annadurdyev and Pirguly Pirgulyev, who entered this institution a year earlier – brought their team bronze medals in the weight categories up to 81 kg and 89 kg, respectively. Weightlifters from 37 countries of the world came to the capital of Uzbekistan for the International Solidarity Championship. Among 116 athletes, eight sportsmen represent Turkmenistan in various weight categories. The tournament in Tashkent ends on February 12, and following the results of the competition, the strongest weightlifters will receive ranking points such important for each athlete and coveted tickets to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
