The diplomatic Mission of Turkmenistan in Minsk gave a briefing on Thursday on two significant events - the upcoming opening of the new Turkmen city of Arkadag next week and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy.
Among the invited guests of the event were teachers and students of the Minsk State College of Printing named after V.Z.Khoruzhey, students of the Belarusian capital.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyyev delivered a welcoming speech at the briefing. He said that in 2023 Turkmenistan will celebrate the 32nd anniversary of its independence and about the path the country has taken over the years of sovereign development, successfully implementing large-scale programs and socio-economic, scientific, educational, socio-political reforms.
The Ambassador dwelt in detail on the construction of a new city that has received the status of state significance - Arkadag, the grand opening of which will take place on June 29. He focused on the combination of modern technologies and environmental standards in the organization of the life of the new city of Arkadag, as well as innovative solutions to social problems with caring for people. Shagulyev stressed that the city of Arkadag was built exclusively by Turkmen forces, and advanced world practices are involved in the implementation of this mega-project.

Also during the event, the Ambassador said that in 2024 the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic poet Magtymguly Pyragy, the founder of the Turkmen national literature, who is still fulfilling the mission of the envoy of the Turkmen people in establishing humanitarian ties, will be widely celebrated. He also noted the importance of Magtymguly's works in the upbringing of the younger generation.
As a visual illustration of what was said, the briefing participants were presented with videos revealing the life of Turkmenistan in various aspects, as well as about the city of Arkadag, which grew up in the foothills of Kopetdag. In addition, a song about Turkmenistan and poems by Magtymguly were performed.

The guests of the embassy got acquainted with the photo exhibition, telling in expressive frames and plots about the history, traditions and heritage, the present day of Turkmenistan, its economy and culture.
The participants of the event were greatly impressed by the exhibition of samples of decorative and applied art, including carpets, jewelry, national clothing, household items of the Turkmen people.
