The customs departments of Turkmenistan and Russia exchanged experience in the field of classification of goods

The exchange of experience in the field of classification of goods was one of the goals of the online meeting of representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Federal Customs Service of Russia. This is reported by the website of the customs department of Turkmenistan.
Specialists of the customs service of Russia shared their experience of customs classification using the example of the Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity (TN VED) for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity is a system for describing and coding goods, which is used to classify goods in order to apply measures of customs and tariff regulation, export customs duties, prohibitions and restrictions, measures to protect the domestic market, and maintain customs statistics. TN VED codes are needed to fill out a customs declaration. The codes of goods transported across the border are determined by the declarants, that is, both individuals and legal entities.
The meeting between the customs specialists of Turkmenistan and Russia was organized as part of the Joint Action Plan for 2022-2024 to further deepen and expand bilateral cooperation.
