An agreement to expand ties between the UAE and Turkmenistan in the field of training diplomats has been made in Abu Dhabi
The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Bashimova is on a visit to the UAE. On Wednesday, Bashimova met with Nikolai Mladenov, Director General of the Anvar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, in Abu Dhabi.
Mladenov familiarized the Turkmen delegation with the structure, functions and tasks of this educational institution, which combines academic activities, research and training of diplomatic personnel.
The meeting continued in an expanded format with the academic staff of the Academy, during which information was provided on the methodology and teaching program, including research, publishing and scientific and practical work of the Academy, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation in the field of education, including the possibility of exchanging experience between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the AGDA on the basis of a memorandum signed between the two universities during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the UAE in November 2022.
In this context, an agreement was reached to organize an introductory visit of the leadership, teachers and students of the IIR MFA of Turkmenistan to the AGDA in the autumn of this year.
