President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that Central Asia is becoming more and more authoritative in the international arena. The Kazakh leader made such a statement during a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Akorda reports.
In addition, Tokayev stressed the key role of the European Union in trade and economic relations with Astana: "The European Union is especially important for Kazakhstan. It is the largest trading partner of our country. We will constantly work with European institutions to strengthen our mutual cooperation," the head of state said.
During the visit of the German president to Kazakhstan, 9 documents were signed in various fields. In particular, we are talking about the creation of the Kazakh-German Institute of Sustainable Engineering, localization of the production of administrative devices using Siemens technology on the territory of the republic and other agreements.
