Turkmen schoolchildren won 6 medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad


Turkmen tenth graders became prize-winners of the Abu Rayhan Beruni International Chemistry Olympiad, which was held in the Uzbek city of Khiva. Schoolchildren won six bronze medals, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
The intellectual competition brought together school students from Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Oman, Turkey, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, Tajikistan, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan. The Turkmen team was led by Serdar Begenjov, a chemistry teacher at secondary school No. 17 in the Halach district of the Lebap region.
The Olympiad included laboratory and experimental tours. The jury consisted of prominent academics and teachers of the participating countries of the competition. Also, during the event, schoolchildren had the opportunity to attend master classes from chemistry professors invited by the organizers.
Students of the capital's schools were awarded bronze medals. Including Shatlyk Batyrov, Mahrijemal Gundogdiyeva, Jeren Akmuradova, Adyl Serdarov and Mekan Ahmedov from the S.Turkmenbashi Special boarding school and Ogulbayram Berdymuradova from school No. 37.
