Uzbekistan will start receiving Russian gas through Kazakhstan in the fourth quarter of 2023


Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, discussed cooperation in the gas sector on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023.
During the meeting, the parties signed a Contract for the supply of Russian gas to Uzbekistan and a Roadmap for preparing the gas transmission system of Uzbekistan for the acceptance and transportation of Russian pipeline gas.
The planned date for the start of the export of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan is the fourth quarter of 2023, the Information Department of “Gazprom” PJSC reports.
Miller also met with Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev and QazaqGaz Chairman Sanjar Zharkeshov. The working conversation ended with the signing of an Agreement for the provision of services for the transportation of Russian natural gas through the territory of Kazakhstan for consumers in Uzbekistan.
As part of the SPIEF-2023, a working meeting was also held between the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, and the president of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf.
The parties discussed the interaction of the companies, in particular, in the field of gas supplies, and also considered the possibility of expanding scientific and technical cooperation in the field of gas transportation, according to a press release from the Russian energy company.
