Ambassador of Tajikistan Sharifzoda completes his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat


Tajik Ambassador Farrukh Khomiddin Sharifzoda is completing his diplomatic mission in Ashgabat and, in this regard, paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday to express gratitude to his colleagues for their comprehensive support and assistance in expanding mutually beneficial interstate ties.
Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of Turkmen-Tajik relations, and also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in all relevant areas from political and diplomatic to trade and economic cooperation and in the humanitarian sphere.
The bilateral partnership between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan has reached a high level, Meredov stated, noting the great importance of the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Dushanbe in May this year, which gave a new impetus to the further development of a friendly and constructive dialogue between the two countries, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Vafo Niyatbekzoda was appointed as the new Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan by the decree of President Emomali Rahmon dated May 31.
Previously, he was the head of the Strategic Research Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan. He served as head of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In recent years, he was the head of the political analysis and programming department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the special envoy of Tajikistan in Afghanistan.
