About 50 people in Turkmenistan took part in the action for the World Blood Donor Day
The Blood Center of the Directorate of Centers of Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan annually processes about 50 thousand liters of blood from about 100 thousand donors.
Such numbers are cited by the deputy director of the center Gulnar Ahmedova in her article dedicated to the World Blood Donor Day and published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The annually celebrated date is designed to draw the attention of the world community to a unique resource, on the availability of which human life sometimes depends. On this occasion, an action was held at the Scientific and Clinical Center of Cardiology in a mobile blood collection point, within the framework of which about 50 people shared valuable material, donating about 20 liters of blood.
In Turkmenistan, any healthy citizen between the ages of 18 and 60 can become a blood donor. You must have a passport with you. On average, a person can donate about 350 — 450 ml of blood at a time. For this, the donor receives a reward — two days off (on the day of blood donation and by choice).
But before the procedure itself, it is necessary to undergo a blood test. During the year, it can be taken no more than five times at intervals of 60 days.
