Turkmenistan intensifies fight against illegal tobacco products
On Wednesday, Minister of Internal Affairs Muhammet Khydyrov reported at a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan on operational measures to combat illicit trafficking in tobacco products, smoking mixtures for hookah and electronic cigarettes.
Thus, during the raids carried out by the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the military and law enforcement agencies at the border checkpoints, products of the mentioned group illegally imported into the country were seized. It was reported that relevant measures provided by law were applied to citizens involved in the smuggling of goods.
President Serdar Berdymukhammedov instructed to intensify work aimed at eliminating the illegal import of tobacco products, instructed to exercise strict control over the supply chain, apply preventive legal measures, and noted the success of anti-tobacco policy.
