The transport and communication complex of Turkmenistan records growth in all sectors


Reliable efficient operation of the transport complex of Turkmenistan ensures the territorial and socio-economic development of the country, the functioning of the domestic market and foreign trade relations, the promotion of international communications and the enhancement of regional connectivity. The growing needs of the economy in transport services are reflected by the positive dynamics of the reporting indicators of the sectors of the transport and communication block.
In January-May 2023, this sector recorded a growth rate of 124.8% in terms of the total volume of works and services. For cargo transportation by all modes of transport, this figure was 104.1%, and for passenger transportation - 106.3%.
In terms of sectors of the complex, air transport has the most impressive figure: the “Turkmenhowayollary” agency demonstrates a growth rate of 308%. During the reporting period, the national air carrier purchased two A330-200 cargo aircraft, which began to operate flights to new destinations - to Seoul and Hanoi.
Stable growth is maintained by the motor transport department, sea and river transport, railways: "Turkmenavtoulaglary" - 121.3%, "Turkmendenizderyayollary" - 110.2%, "Turkmendemiryollary" - 105.4%.
The Agency " Turkmenaragatnashyk" due to the provision of services has reached a growth rate of 111.9%. The number of digital resources hosted on the public services portal e.gov.tm has reached 485, including 31 types of online payments, 256 information services, 160 websites of government agencies and 38 links to their services.
Communications play a decisive role in the successful implementation of international integration projects, and the connection through regional and transport corridors to global trade chains definitely increases the economic weight of our country on the world stage.
In order to develop logistics cooperation with foreign partners, working groups on transport were created jointly with Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Latvia. Working meetings and consultations have already been held at a number of these sites. Now preparations are underway for the meeting of the Turkmen-Chinese and Turkmen-Latvian transport groups and the formation of a similar bilateral group with Iranian colleagues.
