Korean scientists show interest in Magtymguly’s work


The Turkmen-Korean international scientific and creative conference "Magtymguly Pyragy and world values", dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the classic poet Magtymguly Pyragy, was organized on Friday by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum, held in an online format, was attended by heads, faculty and specialists of leading universities in Korea - Hanyang University, Korean Institute for Eurasian Policy Studies, Paje University, National University of Chongnam, Seoul National University, Inha University, Hankuk University of Foreign Languages, Kukmin University.
Turkmenistan was represented at the seminar by researchers of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seidi, as well as representatives of the research communities of the two countries.
Professor Om Gu, Director of the Research Center of the Asia-Pacific Region of Hanyang University, noted in his speech that both Korean researchers and scientists around the world are interested in studying the life and work of the Turkmen poet Magtymguly.
The conference participants emphasized in their reports that the creative heritage of the great poet of the East Magtymguly Pyragy united the ideas of creative people and scientists of his time. It was noted that the translation of the poet's poetry collections into Korean and other languages of the world will provide significant support to the international scientific community in the study of Turkmen history and literature.
