Hungary has expressed interest in importing natural gas from Turkmenistan, Trend reports, referring to a statement by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.

Noting that Turkmenistan has significant reserves of natural gas, the Minister expressed Hungary's readiness to contribute to the creation of an appropriate infrastructure that will enable the inclusion of Turkmen gas in the energy system of European countries.

At the moment, the Hungarian delegation headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orban is on an official visit to Ashgabat. Following the talks with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov , the documents on strengthening Turkmen-Hungarian cooperation were signed.
