A commission has been created to prepare a memorandum on the foreign trade regime of Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has established a commission to develop a Memorandum on the foreign trade regime for accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The corresponding decree was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting on Friday.
The draft document was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov, who reported on the results of a working visit to Ashgabat by a high-level delegation of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
WTO representatives held meetings with the leadership of a number of state structures - the ministries of finance and economy, foreign affairs, trade and foreign economic relations, in the Central Bank and the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs, during which the prospects for cooperation were considered.
Turkmenistan received the status of an acceding country to the World Trade Organization in February 2022.
