Cinematographers from Uzbekistan, Russia and India spoke about the “reboot” of the 1979 cult film “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”. The picture was then shot by famous directors - Russian Latif Fayziev and Indian Umesh Mehra.

The meeting took place online at Uzbekfilm. The main topic of discussion was the idea of creating a joint Uzbek-Russian-Indian adventure remix film. The parties considered organizational issues, the choice of actors and the approximate budget of the future film.

There were suggestions that the picture should continue the first part of the legend about the poor woodcutter Ali Baba, who found untold wealth in the fabulous cave of the robbers, but in a modern interpretation, writes yuz.uz.

The choice of partners for making the film was also not made by chance. The authors of the project will be the first director of the film, Umesh Mehra, and the Russian director Janik Faiziev, who created such famous films as “Turkish Gambit”, “Goalkeeper of the Galaxy”, “August. Eighth" and others. In addition, he is a representative of an eminent cinematic dynasty - the nephew of Latif Fayziev - the director of the original film "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves".

At the beginning of July, the parties agreed to meet face-to-face and work out in detail all the practical and organizational issues of making the film.
