The Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haissam al-Gais, stressed the importance of increasing oil refining capacity in the world to meet the growing demand for petroleum products.

He stated this at the 13th technical meeting of the participants of the charter of cooperation of oil-producing countries, including OPEC countries and non-alliance states.

Al-Gais expressed gratitude to the OPEC member countries for their great contribution to the expansion of refining capacities. In this regard, he mentioned the construction of factories such as Al Zour in Kuwait, Dangote in Nigeria and Jazan in Saudi Arabia.
