Students of the Turkmen Institute of Culture took part in the festival of student theaters of the Turkic world in Tashkent
The International Festival of Student Theaters of the Turkic world was held in Tashkent for the first time. Student theaters of creative universities of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan presented their performances at the Uzbek venue. The project was organized with the assistance of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kabar agency reports.
Students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture performed in the festival program with the production of "Legends of the Oguz" ("Oguz rowaýaty") based on the work of writer Juma Hudaygulyyev "Famous Woman" ("Şöhleli hatyn"). The performance is the thesis of Tagryberdy Atayev, a student of the Faculty of Theater Arts studying the basics of directing.
Ibrahim Durdyyev, a 3rd-year student of the Turkmen Institute of Culture, received the award in the nomination "Best Supporting Actor". And in the main nomination "Best Play" the play "Psychosis" of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh Academy of Arts won.
According to the Secretary General of the International Organization TURKSOY Sultan Raev, the student festival is not only a theater platform, but also a new form of the educational process that unites the future of the theater, creating an excellent platform for interaction, creative communication, mutual views and opinions of young creative forces. Supporting talented youth and reviving their creative potential is the main task of the event. TURKSOY's new projects are beginning to resonate - the best performance, the best roles were determined at the festival, friendship and creative search became the main victory of the festival," Raev said.
Young actors took part in discussions, debates, master classes, creative laboratories and presentations of new books. Rectors of creative universities discussed the educational process and mutual exchange programs on the sidelines of the festival.
