Young bakhshi from Turkmenbashi won first place at the children's mugham festival in Baku


The XIII International Children's Mugham Festival was held on May 20 in Baku, bringing together children from seven countries. Turkmenistan traditionally participates in this forum of children's musical creativity - this year the country was represented by three successors of the traditions of national performing arts.
According to the results of the festival, Soyun Orazdurdyev, a 5th grade student of the children's art school in the city of Turkmenbashi, Balkan region, took 1st place, having received the corresponding laureate diploma and a cash prize. He was also awarded a special diploma on behalf of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Soyun shared the first place with a peer from Turkey, and the Grand Prix of the festival went to a young musician from Azerbaijan. The 2nd place was taken by two guys from Iran and Uzbekistan, and the third place was taken by three performers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan at once.
In addition, Garayev Sakhetnazar, a student of the 8th grade of the special music boarding school at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva, was awarded a diploma from the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.

The festival was organized by the Kainat Youth Center with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other departments of Azerbaijan in order to preserve the classical genres of folk music, identify young talents, international cultural exchange and encourage creative communication between the younger generation, carrying the baton of the living heritage of their peoples.
By the way, from June 18 to June 25, Azerbaijan will host the "adult" VI International Festival "World of Mugham".
