Turkmen athletes will represent the country in nine disciplines at once in the II Games of the CIS countries, which will be held from August 4 to 14 in Belarus.

As the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the country informed the ORIENT correspondent, Turkmenistan will form delegations in such sports as weightlifting, sambo, karate, judo, wrestling, boxing, athletics, swimming and Thai boxing.

It is expected that more than six thousand people will take part in the competition, including about 4,000 athletes who will compete for medals in twenty sports, 900 coaches, 800 judges, 600 medical workers and 200 representatives of delegations.

In most sports, young athletes will compete for awards, adult athletes will compete for medals in rhythmic gymnastics, beach soccer, sambo, weightlifting and field hockey.

As of today, participation in the Games has been confirmed: Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Egypt.

The participation of athletes from Albania, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Brazil and other countries in some disciplines is also being worked out.
