The famous French-Belgian screenwriter and director will hold a master class in Turkmenistan
From May 26 to June 4, the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan will hold a screening of European films and a series of workshops on photography and documentary film production. This is reported on the representative office's page on the social network Instagram.
The events will be held in Ashgabat, Mary and Turkmenabad.
It is known that one of the master classes will be conducted by the French-Belgian screenwriter and director, cinematographer Simon Gillard. In his films, Simon talks about the life of people in remote settlements, revealing the culture, way of life and peculiarities of the language of these peoples.
His works have won awards at the Cannes Film Festival, the Festival dei Popoli, which is the oldest European and most famous Italian festival dedicated to documentary films, the international festival of documentary and short films Zinebi, the international festival of documentary Cinema du reel, the international festival of French-language films in Namur Fiff Namur and others.
A master class on photography and production of documentaries in Turkmenabad will be held on May 27 at 10 a.m. at the hotel Yupek yoly.
To participate, you must pass a preliminary registration for the event and go through a competitive selection. Those who would like to participate should have experience in photography, film and video production. Selected candidates will receive a notification.
