Exports of agricultural products from Central Asian countries to China increased by 42%


Trade turnover between China and five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) increased from January to April by 37.3% year-on-year. This was announced by the General Customs Administration of China.
Among China's imports, energy accounts for 55% of the total volume – natural gas, crude oil, coal. Metal minerals grew by 13.7% in the import segment.
In addition, high-quality agricultural products from five Central Asian countries are hastily promoted in the Chinese market, increasing by 42.9%.
And in the segment of Chinese exports, mechanical electrical products and labor- intensive goods have grown sharply. The volume of machine-building and electrical products increased by 68.3% and amounted to 45.2% of China's total exports. Exports of Chinese clothing and textiles also increased by 75.2%.
In order to promote trade with the five Central Asian countries, the Customs Department of China intends to actively support the resumption of passenger and cargo transportation, develop a single window system and mutual recognition of authorized economic operators.
China has expressed its interest in increasing the supply of agricultural and food products from Central Asia, expanding the "green corridor" in customs clearance procedures for this, Xinhua reports.
Currently, more than 100 types of agricultural products and foodstuffs are exported from Central Asia to China, eight "green corridors" have been created exclusively for processed agricultural products.
