Turkmen doctors study the peculiarities of waste management of medical and sanitary activities


Specialists of the sanitary and epidemiological service and medical and preventive institutions of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan have completed a course on waste management of medical and sanitary activities.
The training was organized by the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Development Program within the framework of the project "Responding to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan". The project is funded by the World Bank.
The training was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health, the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan, UNDP in Turkmenistan, the Seda Medical medical service company, the sanitary and epidemiological service of the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as medical institutions of the regions.
During the course, the participants got acquainted with the WHO strategy for safe waste management of medical and sanitary activities, regulatory documents in this area, as well as the operating instructions for the equipment for the disposal of medical waste Bertin Sterilwave.
The participants were able to verify the knowledge gained during the training through testing.
