Makhtumkuli's works brought together connoisseurs of poetry in Georgia


The international conference "Makhtumkuli Fragi - the soul of the Turkmen people", dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet, gathered in Tbilisi scientists and philologists of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, the Georgian National Center of Manuscripts named after Korneli Kekelidze, the teaching staff of higher educational institutions, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Georgia. From the Turkmen side, the forum was attended by experts and specialists from the National Institute of Language, Literature and Manuscripts named after Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The organizers of the creative meeting held on Wednesday were the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia together with the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the conference noted that the work of the great humanist poet Magtymguly Fragi had a significant impact on the development of not only literature, but also the spiritual life of the peoples of the East. His works have been translated into the languages of many peoples of the world and are the property of world culture. The current action will help popularize the richest literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet in Georgia.
