Turkmen Bakhshi won the international festival in Uzbekistan


The head of the Department of Bakhshi Art at the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Garyagdy Saryyev became the winner of the III International Festival of Bakhshi Art, which was held in Gulistan, Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan, the newspaper "Turkmenistan" writes today.
Saryev performed the destan Soltan Söýün Baýkara and was highly appreciated by the jury. He was awarded the diploma of the international festival and a cash prize of 2.5 thousand US dollars.
Turkmenistan was also represented at the event by teachers of the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory Rovshen Mukhammedov and Saparmurad Amanmuradov, as well as a student of this university Vepamurad Odyaev.
It is noteworthy that in 2019, another Bakhshi from Turkmenistan, Honored Artist of the country Kerven Evbasarov also won this festival.
The International Bakhshi Art Festival was initiated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and is aimed at preserving, developing and popularizing the art of Bakhshi. It is held every two years.
