After the restoration work, the Maiden Tower of Istanbul (Kyz Kulesi) reopened its doors to visitors. The tower, located on an island in the Bosphorus Strait, will now function as a monument and museum.

The Maiden Tower was originally built in the 5th century BC on a small island at a distance of about 20 meters from the current coast of Uskyudar, which serves as a customs point for the management of ships passing through the Bosphorus.

The Maiden Tower requires constant maintenance due to its location at sea and weather conditions. Therefore, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey in 2021 initiated a project for its restoration called "Maiden Tower opens its eyes again".

So, as part of the restoration, all concrete parts were removed, and the tower and the island on which it stands were reinforced with piles and anti-seismic supports. The roof over the courtyard around the tower was replaced with a wooden one in accordance with the original shape. The courtyard and yard covering were also restored in accordance with the original materials indicated in the historical records.
