President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov called for the continuation of the implementation of new projects to increase the supply of Turkmen natural gas in the Chinese direction.

The head of state said this while speaking at the first Central Asia—China Summit that opened in the Chinese city of Xi'an, TDH reports.

"Taking into account Turkmenistan's energy policy based on the diversification of supplies of Turkmen energy resources to international markets and if the parties are interested, we could continue to work on the implementation of new projects related to the supply of Turkmen natural gas in the Chinese direction," the President of Turkmenistan said.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov called the fuel and energy sector one of the main areas of cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia.

One of the real and positive examples of cooperation in this area is the Turkmenistan—China gas pipeline, and thanks to it, China is currently developing its industry and meeting the needs of the country's population in natural gas, the President of Turkmenistan noted.
