The project of the Turkmen-Russian University is at the stage of coordination - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

The project to create a joint Turkmen-Russian university in Ashgabat is at the stage of coordination, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin said during the third Central Asian conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club, which is being held at Tomsk State University (TSU).
In addition, Galuzin noted that Russia in the 2023-2024 academic year will increase the number of quotas for students from Central Asian countries. According to him, about 185,000 students from this region are currently studying in the Russian Federation, of which about 68,000 are financed by the Russian budget.
In addition, it is planned to open branches of leading Russian universities in Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, Galuzin said.
An agreement to establish a joint Turkmen-Russian university was reached during the talks held in Moscow in June 2022 between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin.
In November last year, it became known that the construction of the Turkmen- Russian university would begin in Ashgabat in 2023.
