Ambassador of Turkmenistan Batyr Niyazliev met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov


The meeting of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliev with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov took place in Moscow, during which the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin was introduced to the Turkmen side.
Lavrov expressed confidence that Ivan Volynkin's work as the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan will give a new positive impetus to the development of strategic relations between the countries.
Niyazliev congratulated his colleague on his appointment and wished him success in his new position in the diplomatic service, Turkmen diplomatic mission in Russia reports.
The diplomats also discussed issues of further development of Turkmen-Russian cooperation, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Ivan Volynkin the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan in early April, relieving Alexander Blokhin of this post.
Volynkin was born in 1959 in Moscow. In 1981 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (now MGIMO MFA of Russia) and worked at the embassies of the Russian Federation in Yugoslavia, the USA, Georgia, Macedonia and Armenia.
